Purpose of the role:

The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Warehouse Controller to execute various building maintenance and site service tasks. Duties & Responsibilities
General Repairs and Maintenance
The incumbent will carry out daily maintenance checks as specified, and facilitate the timely resolution of equipment and/or infrastructure related interruptions through respective suppliers. S/he will enforce adherence to
SLAs by OEMs to ensure appropriate and consistent execution of scheduled maintenance and/or inspections on equipment and infrastructure. These include:
Roller doors
High-speed doors
Dock levellers
Fire protection equipment
Building Management System instrumentation
Pallet Hoist and infeed conveyor
Pallet scanning and labelling kit
Pallet Racking
Refrigeration
HVAC System
Back-Up Generator (collaboratively with the site electricians)

Where rental/lease agreements are in force, as is the case with the CCTV infrastructure and MHE fleet, the incumbent will liaise with the relevant OEMs to ensure transparency in the adherence to SLA’s.

In addition conducting routine maintenance in activities such as:
Replace faulty globes and tubes and safe disposal thereof.
Repair and/or replace electrical equipment (where qualified to).
Fix any safety hazards.
Move, assemble and repair furniture and other office equipment.
Carryout plumbing which included inspections and repairs of taps, toilets, drains, sinks, wash basins, urinals, bottle traps and pipes.
Replace broken windowpanes.
Replace doors, hinges and locks.

To be proactive in identifying potential faults/breakdowns before they occur by inspecting instruments and electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects.
Makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
Ensures that service levels are maintained at the required standards by carrying out all breakdown, preventative, and predictive maintenance effectively.
Communicate outstanding job cards to Engineering Superintendent and Engineering Maintenance Planner.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

Leadership
