A global pharmaceutical company has a 12 month contact for a Medical Sales Learnership.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Purpose:
A pharmaceutical sales representative is primarily responsible for representing the product portfolio of a healthcare company, to the target audience of Pharmacists, Dispensing Doctors, Medical Practitioners and/or highly qualified and experienced Physicians/Specialists.
 
Sales representatives are evaluated according to their achievement of set sales targets, activity in-field and virtually, number of interactions with the target audience, monitoring of own and competitor activity, territory analysis and management, amongst other Key Performance Indicators.

Minimum requirements:

  • Must have a completed tertiary Degree, preferably in the Sciences or Commercial fields (i.e., BSc/ BCom).
  • Suitable candidates must be a South African citizen and will be required to present their SA ID on request.
  • The candidate must have a valid drivers license and be in possession of a sound vehicle or have access to a vehicle when needed.
  • The candidate must not have any previous permanent forms of employment as this is a learnership programme

Competences:

  • Business Acumen: Shows a keen interest in the world of business and commerce.
  • Results orientation: Must be self-motivated and confident and target driven. Should be able to work under pressure and in stressful situations.
  • Communication skills: Must possess good verbal and written skills in English and must be able to write effective e-mails and be ready to learn to communicate in a virtual setting.
  • Learning agility: Should be eager to learn and be able to absorb large volumes of complex information in a reasonably short period of time.
  • Interpersonal effectiveness: Must be able to get on well with others co-operate in a team setting.
  • Computer Literacy: Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Unendorsed SA Driver’s License is essential.
