Job Purpose
Directs and leads key performance areas and result indicators associated with the Supply Chain Management functionality by effectively controlling, co-ordinating and administering all Supply Chain Management processes with the Municipality.

Key Responsibility Areas
Identifies and defines the immediate, short- and long-term objectives/ plans associated with the Supply Chain functionality.

Evaluates, assesses and implements supply chain performance continuous improvements.

Compiles and interprets management reports and manages supply chain risks and implements preventative controls

Ensure value for money through the development and implemetation of the City’s procurement strategy, inventory management, disposal and contracting systems, procedures and policies.

Directs and leads the City’s sourcing strategy through identification of cost effective vendors/suppliers for procurement with an aim of reducing costs while improving quality and reliability.

Manages Contracts and Procurement Governance, including the Bid committee reports and decisions for Supply Chain Operations Department.

Directs and controls outcomes associated with utilization, productivity and performance of personnel within the department.

Prepares capital and operating estimates and controls contact expenditure against the approved budget allocations.

Disseminates functional and operational information on the immediate, short and long-term objectives and current development, problems and constraints.

Valid motor vehicle driving license.
