Key Tasks

Customers

Identify and develop potential, sustainable customer relationships

Respond to customer enquiries / complaints

Lead in engagements and strategic customer interfaces with Key Account Contacts

Provide leadership in the areas of product and business development, resource utilisation, Country organization and activities

Support and co-ordinate the development, implementation and localization of key initiatives and programs

Facilitate and support country’s efforts in maintaining healthy relationships with trade bodies and government agencies & authorities, including being an active subscriber or participant of global research agencies

Establish KPI’s and obtain agreement & commitment from Country management

Provide guidelines and support for the implementation of programs such as security regulation to meet country mandated regulatory requirements

Carrier contact/negotiation (AFR) according to corporate policy and local requirements.

Stakeholders

Carrier contract/relationship and performance management

Interact with commercial team (at country level) in terms of pricing

Defines, implements, monitors and enforces service and quality standards, in cooperation with product management (in Regional Office)

Responsible for EBIT result at country/country group level AFR.

Process

Defines, monitors and enforces targets to the operational units

Select and assigns key positions to reach targets

Analyses costs and cost structure of production on country/country group level, and derives improvement measurements and actions

Responsible for constant improvement and optimization of production means (cost management), e.g. make or buy.

Defines and implements Airfreight ISO standards in line with corporate instructions

Responsible for operational management, Production sites, Traffic management, Technical support (buying, capacity etc.), Local purchasing on country/country group level for AFR according to corporate policy

Warehouse Management

Directing the customer to the right WH solution.

Work with logistics engineers in development of Resources Planning and Manage Solution Design

Preparation of the contracts with the customers, with whom an agreement on the new business is reached.

Providing market research and information on the basis of managed customers, rivals and sector.

Determining the needs of the customers and business model.

Liaises with Sales on Sales activities and provides pricing and margin guidance, supports on bids, RFQs and customer presentations

Ensure smooth and safe operations for the respective sites, following respective SOP’s and optimizes the costs of operations using all available levels such as work force, site related and technological topics.

Role Context

The Global Network Operations Programs Group (GNOP) executes FOCUS by identifying and managing programs of change that enable Global Network Operations to achieve standardized processes, service excellence, optimal efficiency and lowest operating cost.

The regional Operations programs team support the full end-to-end scope of Global Network Operations, is constantly aligned with Global Network Operations’ priorities and aligns with the other DHL Express functions to deliver improvements that are aligned on purpose, objectives and support the business needs. On behalf of the Global Network Operations group, we work closely with the various Business and IT teams, driving change of both a business operations process and IT solution nature.

The role of the Program Manager is to ensure a sound understanding of business process and applications within the (specific) scope of the role and how they are architected, developed, deployed and used (emphasis) by the business. You will be responsible for ensuring multiple projects/products running simultaneously across the organization deliver individually as expected and conform to an agreed overall roadmap that directs wider change over the short to medium term.
The role combines project/product management skills with subject matter expertise to translate quickly developjng business demands into the right IT and business solutions and/or process.

The role holder must manage all their relevant projects/programs/products in terms of senior stakeholder engagement, scope, inter-dependencies, costs, resources, and overall deliver to objectives and goals ensuring that any changes to Global SOP process/Standards and EGAP systems are documented and approved.
Work with and guide the regional and country deployment teams to ensure rapid deployment and realisation of business benefits derived from the new capabilities and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Project/Program Management: Responsible for overall business projects/program management ensuring task assignments are clear and all objectives met: Program/Project governance, organisation, plans, risks, Issues and reporting/communicating progress, and where needed contingency plans.

Stakeholder Engagement: You will be aware of and manage the rich variety of stakeholders involved in delivery of programs and projects. This is to align and gain buy-in to roadmaps, their timescales, resulting business changes and impact on resources (customer, business, IT, vendor) as well as benefits

Product Management: You will in your work be the subject matter expert on specific or groups of applications/products and manage the roadmap and enhancement of those same products.
Direct (and indirect) team management: Where requested, project team identification and on-boarding. Assemble, manage and coach the indirect/direct team (remote where applicable) and have active interest in the wider Global Programs and Ops community.
Conduct Regional and Facility Network Operations (onsite) Reviews as needed to ensure full operations alignment, support requirements definition (workshops) and beta deployments.

Business analysis, process review and requirements definition: Drive innovative ideas, solutions and products through leadership and action. New Processes and functions, Innovation, Regulatory, Costs reduction and Productivity improvement are factors for considerations. Ensure Global SOP is aligned with changes and updated.

User group management and communication: Functional input, changes management, prioritisation, project participation (testing) and progress transparency via regular reporting
Defining the Roadmap, Portfolio Program Management & Prioritisation: Define, represent and communicate programs strategy(ies) to all stakeholders. Implement harmonized program management process acting on a clear roadmap of deliverables, change and improvement, whilst balancing plans, strategy and criticality.

Software Development cycle participation: From idea/concept to launch of the capabilities across all areas within the domain. Business case, Project Brief/PID, Business project management, Process, Requirements, Testing and Acceptance to Training and Deployment preparation.

Deployment preparation and support: Ensure relevant training materials are available, conduct beta/pilots, preparing regions/country to deploy, support deployment with SMEs

Post program/project implementation and follow-up: Functional reviews, ensure correct application/usage of process/software, initiate corrective measures.

Support contingency operations for process and EGAP relevant issues: Support any contingency (or similar) analysis and actions with end to end knowledge and corrective measures.

Specific Role Challenges

Possess a good understanding of the group’s end to end operational processes along with detailed knowledge of the Domain/Application being covered, Global SOP processes and standards and strategic challenges to manage the scope of the projects linked with an allocated program and enable achievement of the program objectives through specific projects.

Successful management and leadership of virtual project teams and multiple project stakeholders across multiple Programs and Projects within team.

Manage “deployment” activities where specified in order to ensure the capture of Business Benefits. Noted that core deployment phases and tasks are performed by the regions/countries.

Provide on-going support to country program leads on program areas

Develop user training material and deliver training programs to countries as required.

Success collaboration, interface and interaction with stakeholders

Most projects are defining, development and deployment of Express Global Application Portfolio (EGAP) solutions in which the Regional Teams realizes the deployment phases.

Minimum Requirements

Education & experience

Professional Project Management certification preferred. (eg PRINCE2 or PMP)

Preference for Degree OR equivalent experience.

Preferred certification or experience in requirements analysis/gathering, process definition and related work.

Skills

A minimum of 5 years of experience, including at least 2-3 years’ project/program management experience

Exposure to Business process, analysis and testing

Experience in managing process and requirements development

As a minimum experience across country and regional level preferred.

Role Context

The Field Sales Executive will consult with business owners and introduce them to the #1 Logistics Company in the world. The Field Sales Executive will maintain a high-level of customer service with existing customers and leverage relationships to expand business. Pro-actively identify any risks to customer relationships and / or SPD figures and intervene accordingly to eliminate potential loss of revenue

Responsible to manage customer concerns or complaints timeously and in accordance to DHL procedures in order to limit potential loss of customers

Ensure effective pipeline management by upholding a pipeline strength of 40% (of total portfolio revenue) at all times

Responsible for growing the Shipments Per Day (SPD) figures according to local / country objectives

Responsible to strategically plan and execute best practice (in terms of sales) in order to continuously grow revenue with the respective territory

Collaborate with Sales, Finance and Operations teams to maximise sales and revenue growth within territory

Ensure that daily updates regarding client visits, client information, sales activity and any other required data are captured using the applicable CRM tools
